Carrera Photography started officially in 1987. Before that, Bill Thompson (owner/photographer) was assisting Jerry Dicus (Narrator/Reporter for a Salt Lake radio station) with photography. From NASCAR; CART; IMSA; MTEG; SCORE Riverside; and other motorsports events in Southern California, Bill developed his skills and became familiar with the motorsports world. After several years in this area, Bill decided to concentrate in the Off-Road and Stadium area of motorsports, and began Carrera Photography.

Carrera Photography has covered SCORE; HDRA; MTEG; SNORE; BITD; La Rana; Baja Promotions; Fud; Glen Helen; PACE; MDR; MORE; Pro-Truck; SODA; plus many other events. All these events are archived in our extensive files. Carrera Photography has been well recognized and has received the prestigous SCORE Off-Roadsman Award for Photographer of the Year 10 times (1990; 1991; 1992; 1993; 1994; 1995; 1997; 1998; 1999; 2001) and awards from La Rana, Baja Promotions, MDR.

In his spare time, Bill is an avid surfer (began surfing at the age of 8, and travels to Hawaii regularly to surf the North Shore of Oahu). Bill also enjoys motorcycle riding in the desert and has also
raced, and has won championships in the Baja Promotions Gran Prix series held in Mexico. Bill is married to his beautiful wife Ginalin, and has a one year old son, Nathan.
